It doesn't happen very often that the Auditorium Maximum of the
Vienna University of Technology [E/G] (a room which offers 667 seats) is full of people.
But the talk of Alan Cox [E] , an important person in the developement
of the has been interesting enough.
The people were right when they decided to move the talk from the Informatik
Hörsaal (which would fit for a maximum of 400 people) to the bigger room.
That's why the talk startet at 18:15 (and not at 18:00 as announced).
Alan held a talk about software engineering. (He promised me to send me the
link to the talk.) After that (which took about one hour) he was answering
questions.
We made some photos from the Jutesack-members (that's an IRC channel,
for those who didn't know - like me). They can be found here.
And there are some photos from the lbr-Team [G] which are here.
It was about 22:00 when we left the AudiMax to get some food.
Some topics we were chatting about:
vigor [E]
(to know what I'm talking about take a look at this [E]), screen [E], ,
the IRC channel Jutesack and some other things.
It was about 0:45 when a lot of us left to catch the subway or return
to the IRC.
In case you only want to see some pics, follow this [E] link.
If you want to know why Alan came to Vienna:
Tamer [E] and sid [E] met Alan at
the Linuxtag [E] and Tamer invited Alan to Vienna. And he agreed.
More to come as soon as I have more time. I will write the persons
name to the pictures and add some more information and a few links to other
reports. And the photos of the building process will move to a separate
index file.
