Tullner Street Skating - 7. 10. 2001

Suggestions, corrections or additions may be send to Andreas Kreuzinger [E/G]
Also have a look at the legal notes [E] and the privacy policy [E].

On september 28th, 2001 I met the ordner [E] before we started our night skating tour [E]. One ordner gave me a flyer which was informing about a street skating. I told the others that I would like to skate there and I could skate as ordner.
One week later [E] we met again for the last skate night. Andreas asked me if I could skate as ordner. So I got the job.

The whole tour was escorted by the Gendarmerie [E/G] (two motorbikes and two cars), one ambulance, one leading car and an ordner team (which consists of three women on bikes, two men on bikes from a local bike club and four guys who are usually skating in the ordner [E] team at Friday Night Skating Vienna [E]).

After a short welcoming speech we started the tour at 10 a.m. The route (which had a distance of about 12 km) was:
Hauptplatz Tulln - Parkplatz Mühlwiese (Sportplatz Tulln) - Messegelände - Kreisverkehr West (Schildecker/Billa) - Südumfahrung - Kreisverkehr Wasserwerk - Staasdorfer Straße (B213) - Alte Donaubrücke - Kreisverkehr Nord - Nordumfahrung - Rosenbrücke - Kreisverkehr West (Schildecker/Billa) - Messegelände - Parkplatz Mühlwiese (Sportplatz Tulln) - Hauptplatz Tulln

This was not a race or competition. It was only for fun and recreation. There were a lot of kids doing this tour with us. Some of them got a little help and even some of them had rolls under their feet but were using the energy of other people. And some people were using their bicycle for the tour. In the end about 200 people needed 1 hour and 40 minutes for this tour.

Short summary: It was nice. We had no taxi cabs, but we had a lot of traffic circles. There was a lot of nature. A little bit more sun would be just fine.
And I got a lot of photos [E].
